Psalms For Today

  • Virtual via Zoom or In-Person at Benet House Retreat Center 2200 88th Avenue West Rock Island, Illinois, 61201 United States (map)

This morning mini retreat focuses on the ancient prayers of the Psalms. Jesus prayed the Psalms, as all Jews did. The Psalms have a rich history and meaning that apply to our lives today. Using the Bible Today journal, we will read articles on an aspect of the Psalms and reflection questions for our discussion.

Unpack the Psalms with others and deepen your prayer life. As Benedictines, we pray the Psalms in our Liturgy of the Hours 3 times each day. The Psalms are rich in language, metaphors, and history that continue to inspire our prayer today. They are the cornerstone of my prayer, and I joyfully share the Psalms with others.
