Sr. Judith Ann Croegaert, OSB
Sister Judith Ann Croegaert, OSB, was born in Geneseo, IL, and baptized at Sacred Heart Church, Annawan, IL. Judith Ann graduated from grade school at St. Anthony’s School, Atkinson, IL and graduated high school from St. Mary’s Academy, Nauvoo, IL.
Sister Judith Ann entered the community in August 1962 and made her perpetual profession in 1971 at St. Mary Monastery, Nauvoo, IL. She received a bachelor’s degree from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, IA, and a master’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Illinois, Champaign.
As an educator in Illinois, Sister Judith Ann taught in Chicago from 1965-1967, and in Wenona, Moline, Nauvoo, and Peoria between 1967 and 1984. She served as principal of the South Side Catholic Community School in Peoria from 1984 to 1999, and as the librarian at Seton Catholic School in Moline from 1999 to 2002, when she was named pastoral associate at St. Ann Parish in Peoria.
Sister Judith Ann says her vocation has provided many opportunities to grow in her spiritual journey. She shared, “Being a Benedictine Sister has blessed me with wonderful people who have loved and supported me.”
