Statement on the death of Pope Francis

The Community of Sisters of St. Benedict, St. Mary Monastery, Rock Island, IL, echo the lament from all ends of the earth at the passing of Pope Francis from our midst. We are saddened at the loss of a visionary who has lived and preached the Gospel of Jesus to all God’s people in an inclusive and compassionate manner. We are grateful for Pope Francis’ leadership both of the Church and on the world stage.

May God who has called him to the glories of the heavenly vision continue to be with us who have been inspired by Pope Francis to be our best in loving all God’s world.
