Sister Edmund Harriet Boyle, O.S.B., 1896-1978

Sister Edmund Harriet Boyle, 82, a member of the teaching Order of St. Benedict, died at St. Mary Priory in Nauvoo at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 30, 1978).

She was born in Mendota, Ill., on Feb. 11, 1896, a daughter of Thomas and Alice O’Toole Boyle.  She had lived as a Benedictine Sister at the Priory for 57 years.

Surviving are two brothers, Joseph and Bud Boyle.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.

Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the priory by Father Thomas Fahey.  Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery here.  The Lamporte Funeral Home in Nauvoo is handling arrangements.
