Eco-Spirituality Retreat: Grounded in the Heartbeat of God

  • Benet House Retreat Center 2200 88th Avenue West Rock Island, IL, 61201 United States (map)

With all the life crises of our day — the global pandemic, climate change, fires, floods, droughts, displacement of peoples, and political unrest — we have been shaken to our very roots. It is all the more imperative that we become grounded in our relationship with God who is the source of all life, bond with others who value our interconnectedness, and find ways to act together to realize a world of peace, justice, and love.

Through discernment, contemplative listening, and other spiritual practices, we will become more grounded in God and aware of the interconnectedness of all life in the heartbeat of God.

“…the world, created according to the divine model, is a web of relationships. Creatures tend towards God, and in turn it is proper to every living being to tend towards other things, so that throughout the universe we can find any number of constant and secretly interwoven relationships.[171] … The human person grows more, matures more and is sanctified more to the extent that he or she enters into relationships, going out from themselves to live in communion with God, with others and with all creatures… Everything is interconnected, and this invites us to develop a spirituality of that global solidarity which flows from the mystery of the Trinity.” Laudato Si’ #240
