Finding Resilience While Embracing Grief to Recreate Life

  • Virtual OR In-Person at Benet House Retreat Center 2200 88th Avenue West Rock Island, IL, 61201 United States (map)

This workshop will explore the bitterness of grief and offer ideas to discover the sweet gift of resilience and new life after a loss. Resurrection is for the living as well as the dead. During this time,  the participants will connect with each other and one’s own stories of grief. They will engage in personal activities for reflection and learning. The workshop will explore three insights for the work of grief and mourning, to “grieve deeply, live fully, and love greatly.”

This workshop will be led by Elaine K Olson.   She recently published the memoir My Walk with Grief about her ten-year journey as a widow through grief and finding new life. In addition, she engages in writing a haiku each day as part of her spiritual practice. Elaine is an ordained pastor, certified spiritual director, and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She is also a certified Boundless Compassion Facilitator. The ocean feeds her soul as she lives the life of a writer, counselor, gramma, and friend.
