Hospitality: A Call to Action in a Divisive World

  • Online AND In-Person at Benet House 2200 88th Avenue West Rock Island, IL, 61201 United States (map)

All guests who present themselves are to be welcomed as Christ, for he himself will say: I was a stranger and you welcomed me” RB 53

St. Benedict challenges us to see the world as One, to welcome each person as Christ before us and to expand our hearts with a radical love for all.  St. Mary Monastery celebrates the Benedictine value of Hospitality during 2022.  We welcome people of all faiths to join us in a deeper understanding of how to bring this Hospitality to a world that is broken and divisive in so many ways.  Learn what St. Benedict means about this  ‘call to action’ that Hospitality challenges us to. This is the first in a yearly series highlighting a different Benedictine value.  2023 will focus on Peace & Justice and 2024 will highlight Care of Creation.

Benet House and St. Mary Monastery welcome S. Judith Sutera, OSB, and author Diane Millis, PhD as the featured presenters for this inaugural program.  Join this new opportunity to learn more about the Benedictine values and how they can be lived in our everyday lives.  Onsite and virtual opportunities.
