Rain Garden - National Catholic Sisters Week 2022

When the Sisters of St. Benedict added on to the Benet House Retreat Center in 2008 part of the building plan was to establish a rain garden behind the Large Meeting Room Addition. The rain garden helps capture and slow down the rain fall. It is meant to help rain percolate into the ground instead of washing away topsoil, filter runoff pollution, reduce mosquito breeding, help recharge ground water in the area, protect rivers and streams, enhance sidewalk appeal and increase garden enjoyment
