A Mass of Christian burial was offered Tuesday, June 14, for Sister Elizabeth Dunn, OSB, of St. Mary Monastery, Rock Island.

She was buried in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.

Sister Elizabeth died June 10, 2005 at St. Mary Monastery.  She was 82

Winnifred Dunn was born Feb. 8, 1923, in Ohio, Ill., to James J. and Genevieve (Fitzpatrick) Dunn.  She attended the Ohio and Amboy High Schools and entered the Benedictine community on Dec. 8, 1941.

Sister Elizabeth made her religious profession as a Benedictine Sister on July 29, 1943.  Her ministry included community service in the areas of food service and health care.  In the Diocese of Peoria she served at St. Mary Monastery, Nauvoo; St. Anthony Parish, Atkinson; St. John the Baptist Parish, Clinton; St. Joseph Parish, Ivesdale; and St. Boniface and Holy Family Parishes, both in Peoria.

Sister Elizabeth is survived by three brother; James D. of Tonica; Gerald P. of Harmon, Ill. And Robert J. of San Francisco, Calif.
